Make a pea pod costume using easy sew fleece and a long green nightshirt. Perfect for a veggie theme or pair up with a buddy and become two peas in a pod. Soft and flexible, this costume easily slips over a jacket for Halloween or rolls up easily to carry to school.

Buy one yard of green colored fleece and a green nightshirt. Alternately, use fabric dye to color a white shirt or create a simple pillowcase style pull over from green fabric.

Fold the fleece in half and in half again. A double layer of fleece increases the stiffness of the hat.

Measure 8-inches from the folded corner to create the top of the hat.  Cut out three six-inch points below this area for the cap of the pea pod. Cut edges of fleece do not fray eliminating the need to finish the edges.

Twist 3 pipe cleaners around your finger to create vining stems. Insert these into the top of the hat before sewing.

Sew the top 8 inches of the hat. Try it on and tack the front points back so you can safely see while wearing your costume.

Cut out three circles from the remaining fleece. The featured shirt had a design on the front; the top pea was sized to cover this.

Sew the peas on. Your costume is ready to go.
