Wine glass charms add festive elegance to plastic drink glasses. Make these garden party charms in an hour or so with inexpensive materials found at a party or craft store.

Materials:
silk flower lei
Wired silk flowers
Glass beads

Choose a silk flower lei in a complementary color for your party theme. Cut the string to release the individual flowers.

Make sure the individual flowers on your lei have a plastic threaded stem.

The wine glass charms are made with wired silk flowers from the bridal department. Each of the six "flowers" had five individual flowers, more than enough for this event.

Start by threading a straw like spacer from the lei onto the wire. Next, thread three lei flowers through the wire.

Add colorful glass beads to complete the wine glass charm. Bend the end of the wire back around close to the wire flower.

Slip the charms onto the plastic glasses before attaching the base.

  • The charms can be sent home as party favors or saved for another event.
  • Make matching napkin rings or charms for regular wine glasses by crimping the end wire instead of wrapping it around the beginning wired silk flower.
